The Kite-Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, Riverhead Books. Moving, unforgettable, unputdownable. Afghanistan thirty years ago, a friendship between two boys, a fragile father-son relationship. Childhood choices which influence adult lives. Set in Afghanistan in the 1970's and later in America, this is ultimately a story about love, redeeming,  forgiveness and acceptance, written with tenderness and empathy. Bought used at Compendium Bookstore, 3,50 euro.
